Getting To Koh Tao

Via Koh Samui

The quickest way to Koh Tao Map route is by flying Bangkok Airways from Suwannabhum Airport.

Upon arrival at Koh Samui, one can arrange transfer to through the airport information desk. Samui can only be reached by boat as there is no airport on Koh Tao Map. We recommend the one hour voyage by either the Lomprayah Catamaran or the Seatran Discovery which leave twice daily for Koh Tao Map. There are other options available via other boats, but these are by far the fastest and best ways following Koh Tao Map route. Regardless to which option you choose, you should be aware that the last boat leaving Koh Samui for Koh Tao Map route is 17.00.

The last catamaran leaving Koh Tao Map is at 5pm daily, so any onward flight bookings/reservations should ideally be scheduled for after 18:00 hrs to allow for any unforeseen delays. Transfers from the piers to the airport are readily available for minimal sums and in some cases included in the catamaran pricelist. Whatever you prefer, you can book directly through the above links online or you can book all your transfers through Koh Tao Montra Resort and Spa.

Getting to Chumphon from Bangkok is very simple and most economy by train or a comfortable VIP bus or air. All options can easily be booked in Bangkok or online. Again Lomprayah Catamaran offers two trips and Seatran Discovery offers one trip to Chumphon daily and the price includes the transfer to Koh Tao.

Nok Air operates daily flight from Don Muang Airport in Bangkok to Chumporn Airport at much more economy air fare. You can catch ferry to Koh Tao via Lom Prayah ferry of night boat via Talaysub ferry.

Night boat to Koh Tao, there is also a very comfortable night boat option from Chumporn to Koh Tao. The MV Talaysub which leaves Chumporn for Koh Tao at Talaysup pier, Ta Yang every Tuesday Thuraday and Saturday night at 23:00 hrs. MV Talaysub leaves Koh Tao every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 23:00 hrs. 

Via Suratthani

Travellers from Phuket and Krabi typically pass through Suratthani, which is a long and at times uncomfortable journey in a minibus. Boat options are very limited and the only direct boat is a little dubious even at the best of times. The night boat leaves Suratthani every night at 23:00 hrs. We do not recommend taking this Koh Tao Map route but to fly from either Phuket/Krabi directly to Koh Samui and catch ferry to Koh Tao. 

Landing on Koh Tao

Once on Koh Tao, guests of the Koh Tao Montra Resort and Spa need only walk to the end of the pier and our staff shall be awaiting you at their. Alternatively, guests may take a short scenic walk along the beach to the Koh Tao Montra Resort and Spa for 200-300 meters to our resort..
